Belden Announces New Cable Management Configuration

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Belden, a developer of transmission products for the enterprise, data center, building management, broadcast and security markets, has introduced a new cable management configuration.

The software tool enables customers to specify error-free enclosure/rack systems.  The tool allows users to build enclosure systems that meet specific requirements. Customers will also be able to build a complete configuration, having the confidence that all components selected will work together, according to the company.

With this new configuration in the market place, Belden is targeting four user groups. The new configuration has been designed to meet the requirements of four user groups including distributors of Belden products, consultants who are involved in specifying purchases for a project, system integrators and end-users.

Belden's configuration was designed to be a highly functional, responsive and easy-to-use tool for day-to-day operations. The advantages for its users are several. According to a Belden, its customers can also view and download CAD drawings, access and download relevant spec sheets, drawings and pictures, request a quote and create a template to create multiple orders.

Besides, Belden distributors can browse through a Belden product catalog and build a quote containing a mix of configurable enclosures, accessories and options. They can also generate a quote document in PDF format under their own logo for printing, faxing or emailing to prospective customers. They can also convert a quote to a sales order for submission to Belden.

Simplicity is one of the aims of any users. Belden's configuration simplifies choices. This is a drastic contrast as compared to other configurations, which are offering a complex and lengthy decision and ordering process.

Belden's logical user-interface and division of access modes, based on user experience, make it faster than other enclosure configurations. Other configurations are often cumbersome, slow applications entailing large, executable files that must be downloaded to a users' computer. The Belden configuration will not require memory allocation inside the user's computer. It runs directly off Belden's powerful server, according to a statement from Belden.

In addition, the Belden configuration is visually oriented to make it more effective and user-friendly. The system's convenient user interface includes screen zones for user interaction, visualization, information, and summary.
