Vantrix, a provider of content adaptation and optimization solutions for converged wireless, broadband and cable networks, reportedly has signed a five-year contract with a major North American converged operator for delivering multimedia content to its subscribers.

 

Under the agreement, Vantrix technology will be supporting high-quality user experiences across a number of services offered by the operator, including mobile video and Web TV, user-generated content, video-on-demand, electronic programming guide and a mobile client.

 

“Converged operators, particularly those engaged not only in broadcasting but also in interactive multimedia development, Internet access services, telephony and wireless services, are in a great position to capitalize on the promise of three-screen convergence,” said Allan Benchetrit, president and chief executive officer at Vantrix.

 

Benchetrit also said that it’s important to optimize the viewing experience and offer new services in order to be truly a revenue generator.
