Tech Data has signed a distribution agreement with Sharp Electronics that gives IT resellers the right to sell the entire line of Sharp LCD TVs, AQUOS LCD TVs and Blu-ray Disc players.

Tech Data (News - Alert) says it supports these Sharp products through its Digital Signage and Projectors Specialized Business Unit (SBU).

Tech Data Corporation is a distributor of technology products from IT hardware and software producers. Sharp (News - Alert) Electronics is a developer of home entertainment products, appliances, networked multifunctional office solutions, solar energy solutions and mobile communication and information tools.

Under this new arrangement, Tech Data will distribute Sharp LCD TVs, ranging from 19-inch (18 1/2” Diagonal) screen size class to 52-inch (52 1/32” Diagonal) screen size class full HD 1080p resolution models; AQUOS LCD TVs, ranging from 19-inch (18 1/2” Diagonal) screen size class to 65-inch (64 17/32” Diagonal) screen size class full HD 1080p resolution models; and three Sharp AQUOS Blu-ray Disc player models.

These features have made them an top choice to be deployed in schools, restaurants, doctors’ offices, hotels, retail outlets, government buildings and many other venues.

And with the addition of Sharp LCD TVs, Tech Data is strongly positioning resellers to pursue the demand for these products by enabling them to team with a renowned electronics company.

“Tech Data’s reseller customers provide a host of technology solutions to businesses and government agencies of all sizes,” said John Becconsall, associate vice president of Vertical Markets Sales, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “By teaming with Tech Data, Sharp will be able to expand our market presence and grow our business through the IT channel.”

Tech Data claims that their business model enables technology solution providers, manufacturers and publishers to cost-effectively sell to and support end users ranging from small and medium businesses (SMB) to large enterprises.

Tech Data officials stated that the company’s Digital Signage and Projectors SBU support resellers deploying the latest presentation and digital signage solutions. Through its Specialized Business Units (SBUs), the company offers resellers the dedicated expertise of a specialty distributor backed by the broad resources of a global provider of IT products and services. By tailoring technical training, logistics management, services and product offerings for a particular market segment, each SBU enables resellers, manufacturers and software publishers to capitalize on the demand for emerging and high-demand IT solutions.
