ACT Television Launches IPTV Service Built on Verismo's VuNow Platform

Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) has launched new IPTV (News - Alert) and triple play services in Bangalore, India are powered by Verismo's VuNow Internet TV platform.
 
VuNow will also enable thousands of ACT customers to watch personal content, millions of internet videos and prepackaged live TV from around the world directly on their TV screens.
 
Atria Convergence (News - Alert) Technologies Pvt. Ltd is a Multi Service Operator (MSO) based in Bangalore, who brings cable TV, digital TV, IPTV, Internet, data and other broadband services to its customers through cable to home.
 
Verismo's VuNow platform transforms the TV set into a powerful multi-media hub with an unbelievable level of choice and ease in accessing digital entertainment.
 
ACT with its new interactive IPTV service aims to convert the TV into a convergence device and consumers can pause and play over 200+ live TV channels, record one program while watching another, and access more than 4,500 DVD quality Kannada, Hindi and Tamil movies at the click of a button.
 
The VuNow Internet platform includes a hosting and delivery platform for on-demand content under a subscription, pay-per-view or ad-supported models. It also supports features like content shaping and ingestion, video cataloging, subscription management and billing, analytics engine and geo targeting.
 
Verismo claims that VuNow offers customers access to the broadest online content, simple to use, ease of installation, and a compact size, all at an affordable price. Verismo has modified the solution especially for ACT so that it allows users to watch linear TV channels as well as Internet video.
 
ACT customers will also get local and network PVR capabilities to pause, rewind and record live TV shows, SSL supported browser for internet surfing, support for multiple codec to maximize content playback from various formats and DRM support from the VuNow platform.
