Videotron Selects Syniverse for 3G Mobile Launch

Canadian telecommunications provider Videotron has reportedly selected Syniverse Technologies for enhanced mobile messaging, roaming and anti-fraud services to its 3G network.
 
Videotron (News - Alert) is an integrated communications company engaged in cable broadcasting, interactive multimedia development, Internet access services, cable telephony and wireless telephone services.
 
The company will utilise Syniverse (News - Alert) solution such as full suite of messaging, network, roaming, clearing and fraud prevention solutions that will enable it to provide cost-effective, industry-leading mobile services to the Canadian marketplace.
 
Specifically, Syniverse solution will enable videotron’s mobile subscribers to seamlessly send text and multimedia messages to users on other networks. And will also help in roaming and fraud prevention perspective, Data Clearing House for GSM and Financial Clearing House for GSM.
 
In addition, operators can use Syniverse’s IPX Network Transport solution to enable access to a full suite of mobile data services via a single ubiquitous network while supporting emerging 3G Plus solutions and ensuring high service quality.
 
Alfred de Cárdenas, executive vice president and general manager, North America, Syniverse, said Syniverse’s diverse portfolio of mobile service offerings is specifically designed to help operators like Videotron grow their core business and expand in new directions.
 
He said that they will support traditional mobile operators and will also provide industry-leading solutions to new entrants to the mobile space, including cable operators, and Internet, VoIP and applications service providers. He added, “We have a long history of helping operators launch mobile services rapidly and efficiently, and we are fully capable of supporting Videotron as it adds mobile to its comprehensive portfolio of subscriber services.”
