Siemon, a company that specializes in the manufacturing and innovation of high quality, high-performance network cabling solutions, has reportedly introduced new category 6 unshielded version of the Z-MAX family of end-to-end network cabling solutions.

The new category 6 Z-MAX system belongs to the company’s 10Gb/s capable Z-MAX 6A platform and offers enhanced and user-friendly termination features in flat and angled configurations. It uses Siemon's (News - Alert) patent-pending Z-TOOL that helps in terminating the outlet in less than 60 seconds from start to finish, including cable preparation the company said.

According to Bob Carlson, Siemon's vice president of global marketing, an overwhelming positive feedback on the Z-MAX 6A and speed of termination has driven requests and demand for a category 6 version of Z-MAX.

"We listen to our customers and respond accordingly," Carlson said in a statement. "The market for category 6 is still ripe and this is a logical extension of Siemon's breakthrough MAX product line."

The new category 6 Z-MAX outlet also shares Z-MAX 6A's patent-pending linear termination module that allows conductors to be laced quickly and naturally into position without crossing pairs. It helps in covering and protecting cable pair geometry optimizes transmission performance and consistency while removing a significant noise source present in all other RJ-45 outlets.

Z-MAX 6 patch panels comes with in a modular Quick-Snap panel design, which allows Z-MAX 6 panel outlets and pre-terminated trunking cable assemblies to be quickly assembled to speed initial deployment and subsequent moves, adds and changes.

Z-MAX 6's provides rapid deployment, superior flexibility and ultra-high density in mission-critical data center infrastructures when paired with 48-port, 1U patching, the company said.

Headquartered in Connecticut, with global offices, manufacturing and service partners throughout the world, Siemon offers the most comprehensive suite of copper (unshielded and shielded twisted-pair) category 5e, category 6, category 6A and category 7/7A, and multimode and singlemode optical fiber cabling systems.

In other news, the company recently made headlines for releasing the new XLR8 mechanical splice connector and termination system for fiber optic cabling.
