By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Rallypoint, a software developer for Internet-connected HDTVs and other devices has reportedly launched the Rallycast Fantasy Sports, which will offer a package of sports entertainment social networking experience to internet-connected high definitions televisions.

Rallycast transfers users’ HDTV into a real-time command center for their favorite Internet content. Rallycast is a direct and personal connection for users to their friends, the latest developments in their fantasy sports teams, Facebook and other social networks. Rallycast’s line of TV Apps lets users overlay personalized Internet content on their HDTV.

Rallycast features a Toolbar menu system where users can access TV apps for fantasy sports, check sports scores and stats, send text messages and post status updates on Facebook (News - Alert) and write on friend's walls. The company has also plans to add more TV Apps that feature Web 2.0 content from popular Web sites, expanded TV show content and home shopping.

The Rallycast Fantasy Sports is the first subscription service that lets users view real-time scores and stats for their existing fantasy leagues on their HDTV without having to miss the game. Rallycast TV Apps are overlaid within the television program the user is watching, so users never have to change the channel, connect their computer to the TV, or take a laptop into the living room.

Rallypoint said that Rallycast is built on the Yahoo TV Widgets platform. With Rallycast Fantasy Sports, internet-connected HDTV and remote users can: access all their fantasy leagues, teams and picks on their internet-connected HDTV; see fantasy sports team scores in real-time; view existing fantasy sports league standings and league scores; look at detailed player stats in real time; make roster substitutions using their HDTV; and create new fantasy sports leagues and invite friends to play from their HDTV.

In order to deliver unprecedented functionality, Rallycast has also partnered with major TV and DVD player manufacturers to give users the Internet in high definition.
