Sunrise Telecom Unveils Enhanced RealWORX WEB 24/7 RF Monitoring System

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Sunrise Telecom, a dealer in test and measurement solutions for telecom, cable and wireless networks, has released an enhanced version of realWORX Web, a 24/7 RF monitoring system for CATV and broadband communications services. Company officials said their realWORX WEB Performance Verification System was designed to allow operators to monitor return ingress levels, analog signal performance, as well as QAM performance and statistics from many nodes using any browser interface.

RealWORX WEB compares RF performance against user-set limits and activates an alarm when signal impairments are detected, the alarms can be sent via email, pager, or cell-phone, and can report to the NOC (News - Alert) via SNMP trap. realWORX WEB can also be used for complete access to information on upstream ingress and downstream channel performance.

Sunrise Telecom (News - Alert) has claimed that their “anywhere, anytime” access to network information gives service providers a new level of confidence in the reliability of their DOCSIS 2.0 and 3.0 systems without additional capital expenditures.

Analysts have pointed out that with the rise in the use of DOCSIS 3.0, it is important for operators to own a comprehensive Web-based RF monitoring product like realWORX WEB to meet deployment quality of service through isolating ingress issues and finding downstream RF impairments.

RealWORX WEB is a so-called user-friendly Web-based solution with features that can facilitate quick and easy interpretation of data. The solution can be run from centralized servers and also can be scaled to meet any size monitoring system requirement.

Sunrise Telecom has stated that the realWORX WEB, with the AT2500HMQ broadband spectrum analyzer integrated into its core, can detect transient and low level RF impairments that are normally invisible to competing systems.

realWORX WEB also integrates both upstream and downstream RF quality measurements in one system, which results in decreased costs of hardware, training and support. With realWORX WEB, tests that had once been complex and time-consuming can be performed routinely, automatically and consistent.

Bahaa Moukadam (News - Alert), CEO of Sunrise Telecom said that as cable television operators transition from traditional entertainment programming to delivering enhanced triple play services, quality of experience becomes more important. Losing one subscriber results in the significant loss of three revenue streams and managing service performance with realWORX WEB can help increase revenues and loyal customers.

Sunrise Telecom recently appointed industry veteran Bahaa Moukadam as CEO.
