Verizon Business, a unit of Verizon (News - Alert) Communications that specializes in communications and IT solutions, has reportedly signed a new agreement with Nissan North America Inc. to manage end-to-end IT network infrastructure services.

Company officials at Verizon Business (News - Alert) said that the new agreement assigns them to manage and secure Nissan North America's IT network infrastructure, which connects more than 13,000 employees across 46 locations in the United States and Canada.

As part of the pact, Verizon Business will also manage network security and complexity, including managed wide area networking, managed local area networking, wireless LAN, managed voice, conferencing, call center and security services.

The company’s consultants will help in developing and deploying the end-to-end integrated solution to provide improved performance and security. Nissan’s converged voice and data network links its North American headquarters with key business units, including production, design, research and development, manufacturing and distribution.

"We believe outsourcing IT requirements to Verizon Business will result in improved performance, reliability and security for Nissan," said Blair Crump, group president of worldwide sales, Verizon Business.

Verizon delivers award-winning communications, IT, information security and network solutions managing 260,000-plus security, network and hosting devices across more than 4,200 customer networks spanning 142 countries and territories.

The company's global infrastructure, one of the most connected IP networks in the world, provides a solid foundation from which to serve multinational corporations and government agencies.

Company was recently in news for introducing its new Application Assurance service, which is powered by Fluke Networks’ (News - Alert) Visual Performance Manage.

This offering is the latest addition to the Verizon Private IP Application Aware suite of tools, which are designed to help businesses and government agencies identify and troubleshoot threats that could hamper application performance.
