CommScope Launches New Nano Amplifier in Signal Vision Family of Products

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Many cable operators across the globe are looking for a convenient and easy amplification solution in a compact Nano housing because there is a robust growth in the demand for DOCSIS 3.0 high speed data services, high definition television (HDTV) programming and a global need to cut down on size and spends. In order to meet this requirement of cable operators, CommScope has recently decided to launch their new Nano amplifier in their Signal Vision family of subscriber drop products.

The Signal Vision Nano amplifier will be the smallest such amplifier in the industry. It will enable easy deployment of the solution in even the most restrictive situations. This will also help installations in compact network interface device (NID) boxes. The amplifier presents a 15 db gain in the forward path and a passive reverse path; thus, it can provide the support required to those capabilities that are required to deliver contemporary high speed voice, video and data networks. The amplifier has been cased in a compact Nano design that has been coated with aluminum and provided with brass F-ports. It adheres to, and often exceeds all SCTE standards in this regard. The latest launch will also be compliant in the harsher climate of an external plant environment.

Neil Philips (News - Alert), the vice president of Signal Vision, spoke about the initiatives undertaken by CommScope to provide improved solutions to their consumers and about the company’s latest launch, the Nano amplifier. He said, “CommScope continuously leverages advances in technology to enhance products and solutions for our customers. These advances to our Signal Vision product portfolio have made it possible for us to offer a reduced size amplifier to improve ease of installation without sacrificing performance.”

The company will demonstrate the new Nano amplifier along with many of their other solutions for the cable industry, at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, Colorado on Oct. 28-30.

CommScope is a provider of infrastructure solutions for communication systems.
