Verizon Intros High Speed Internet Service Offers for Holiday Season

By Raja Singh Chaudhary, TMCnet Contributor

Verizon (News - Alert), a provider of telecommunication services, reportedly plans to offer new deals to its customers during the holiday season. The company has declared to offer big incentives to the Internet users who make a switch to Verizon’s High Speed Internet, or “HIS,” services since now till mid January.

HSI is an Internet service that is based on digital subscriber line, or “DSL,” technology, and the company promises to provide the HSI service totally free for the first six months, if the consumers order Verizon's 1, 3 or 7.1 Mbps service as part of a one-year agreement with the company.

This offer will be effective until Jan. 16, 2010. The consumers who decide to bundle their up-to- 3 or 7.1 Mbps HSI service with Verizon Freedom Essentials, which is an unlimited domestic long-distance calling service and award-winning DIRECTV service, will also be able to avail the six months free offer announced by Verizon.

Additionally, the company has announced a triple-play bundle offer, which includes up-to- 3 or 7.1 Mbps HSI service, DIRECTV PLUS DVR package and Freedom Essentials for just $70 per month for the first six months. The 3 Mbps and 7.1 Mbps packages being offered by Verizon also include free access to thousands of company’s Wi-Fi hot spots around the country, including various retail and high-traffic locations.

Currently, over 25 million qualified households in parts of 24 states and the District of Columbia are subscribers of Verizon HSI, which is company's most widely available broadband Internet service. The HSI service of the company also offers a number of other valuable services, including free Wi-Fi connections for qualifying customers, Verizon Internet Security Suite, Premium Technical Support and Verizon Online Backup & Sharing.

According to Susan Retta, vice president, Consumer Products and Services, Verizon, consumers are constantly looking for the most reliable and best-priced products on the market, and the company has created a value-packed reason to switch to Verizon. Retta added that customers who order new HSI bundles online will also receive exclusive benefits including a free modem and an additional $5 off qualifying bundles.

The company had announced last month to provide its first "quad-play" bundles of wireless calling, home phone, broadband Internet and TV services. These packages have been made available to customers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

Recently, Verizon had declared that an additional 500 consumers and businesses in Graham County now have access to Verizon High Speed Internet or ‘HSI’, allowing them to quickly download movies, share photos or video with friends and family, and create their own Internet content.
