TIO Networks Launches Real-Time Bill Payment Processing Service for Cox Communications

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

TIO Networks Corp., North America’s multi-channel expedited bill payment processor, reportedly has entered into an agreement with Cox Communications to provide real-time bill payment services to its ‘cash-preferred’ customers across the United States.

According to a press release, this agreement follows successful deployments in Phoenix and Las Vegas where COX bill payment is available at the company’s retail channel partners, Cox (News - Alert) payment centers and digital stores.

All payments made to TIO are posted in real-time giving customers flexibility to balance household finances, avoid late fees and potentially disruption of services.

Cox is the third largest cable company in the nation, providing advanced digital video, broadband and telephone services to more than 6 million customers.

Thanks to the pact, these customers are now able to pay their video, voice and/or Internet bills via TIO payment centers.

Company officials say the bill payment service will be available in participating Cox markets within TIO’s processing network. Currently there are 18,000 location end points to TIO’s fast growing processing network including 1500 self-service cash accepting kiosks. Customers pay a convenience fee.

“At Cox, our focus is always on the customer,” said Mark McGuire, vice president of solutions delivery for Cox, in the release.

McGuire said that the ability of customers to pay their bills at TIO retail locations and self-service kiosks is one more way that the customers can conveniently do business with Cox.

“We are honored to be chosen as COX Communications first National real-time bill payment processing partner and bring a new nation wide product to our channel partners,” said Chris Ericksen, Sr. VP, business development, TIO Networks.

In September TIO Networks Corp. and self-service bill payment provider Nexxo Financial Corp. had announced that they will expand an existing partnership and launch TIO's expedited bill-payment processing on 100 of Nexxo's financial-services kiosks.

Nexxo caters primarily to the Hispanic market, with deployments in Latin America and the Western United States, and calls its financial kiosks "Cajeros," which means "cashier" in English.
