ADVA Optical Network Tops Street

ADVA (News - Alert) Optical Networking beat projections for the first quarter.

The company reported revenues of $83.6 million, a 10.9 percent increase over last year, and a 6 percent increase over the fourth quarter of 2009. Market analysts had projected revenues to be between $75.9 million and $82.5 million.

Ethernet led the company's products with sales in the EMEA region growing 12.5 percent to $59.5 million. Revenues in the Americas rose to $18.6 million from $16.8 million a year ago.

ADVA Optical Networking (News - Alert) is projecting that the Optical Ethernet metro network market will grow 13 percent this year and by an average of 15 percent per year through 2012.
