Time Warner Cable Business Class, a provider of interconnection, colocation and business exchange services in strategic and high demand North American markets, has installed a new Point of Presence (POP) in the Telx data center facility located in Dallas, Texas.

The new Point of Presence (POP) supports their plan of building into data center facilities all throughout the state. Since Telx data center is one of the biggest domestic interconnection and collocation data center operators, Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable Business Class chose to build into it.

The new POP will attend to the connectivity needs of Time Warner Cable's business service customers, at the same time providing interconnection opportunities to Telx's customers in the Dallas area. It also provides the Time Warner Cable Business Class with the significant redundancy required to make sure the stability of business in the occurrence of a local service outage.

John Owen, the president of Time Warner Cable Business Class in Texas, noted that Time Warner Cable Business Class has decided to extend its footprint in the metro area of Dallas. The key to that extension is establishing a presence in the local facility of Telx. This is the first step in a long term plan with a concentration on building into data centers all throughout Texas that enable Time Warner Cable Business Class to contend better against other telecommunications providers in the enterprise space. Time Warner Cable Business Class will be able to meet the requirements of their largest customers more by extending their presence in data centers.

"Last mile" connectivity, which enables current customers and other carriers to use Time Warner Cable Business Class to gain access to the facility, is also offered to the Telx facility in Dallas, Texas.

The new Point of Presence (POP) from Time Warner Cable Business Class is fully functionally within the Telx facility in Dallas Texas. It can also be accessed by Telx customers collocated at the facility in Stemmons Freeway.
