SeaChange International Launches Ad System Evolution Program For Television Operators

SeaChange International (News - Alert), Inc. has launched SeaChange Spot Assurance, an ad system evolution program for television operators to capitalize on the wave of consolidation in ad operations. SeaChange Spot Assurance will deliver software and hardware enhancements for SeaChange Spot System deployments and position customers for multi-screen advertising from an open, standards-based and scalable architecture.

A number of North American MSOs, telcos and satellite providers have signed for the Spot Assurance program. According to Malcolm Stanley, director of advertising product management at SeaChange, ad operations consolidation is leading to requirements for enterprise scalability and centralization if the business is to manage increasing numbers of spots, new formats such as 3D, interactivity and diverse campaigns to any video device. All of this starts with the SeaChange Spot management platform that operators have in place today. SeaChange's customers will be able to capitalize on this foundation, check off the consolidation box and incrementally extend their linear and interactive ad business to mobile and PC.

The SeaChange AssetFlow Platform for Advanced Advertising provides an opportunity to introduce scalable centralized asset ingest, encode, transcode and processing services. This ensures delivery of margins as well as revenue. Through the implementation of advanced centralized workflow solutions, operators will be able to respond to industry-driven increases in asset processing requirements by scaling down costs and scaling up their business responsiveness. AssetFlow will seamlessly interface with SeaChange platforms and third-party management tools.

The SeaChange Spot Assurance program features Spot System integration with the SeaChange Content Delivery Network (CDN) system replacing Spot Master Video Libraries; SeaChange Advertising Decision Management (ADM) platform and SCTE-130 ADM/ADS support for the ADM. The SeaChange Spot System is an automated solution for reliable advertising insertion at the lowest operational expense and highest quality. The Spot System uses spots loaded through an encoding station and schedules provided from ad traffic and billing system to complete every task required for fulfillment without operator intervention.

SeaChange advertising systems enable operators to utilize emergent and mainstream standards such as EBIF and SCTE-130 and emergent Canoe developments. It is also continuing to provide openness from the core by utilizing Linux in its ad solutions and applications engineering. SeaChange International provides software applications, services and integrated solutions for video-on-demand, digital advertising, and content acquisition monetization and management.
