Verizon Offers Cost-effective Double-Play, Triple-play Bundled Services for Customers

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Verizon (News - Alert) Communications Inc., a leading communications provider, has bundled high speed broadband services along with the existing regional calling plan.

Verizon customers will now be able to receive up to 1 megabit per second of Verizon High-Speed Internet (HSI) service along with their unlimited local and regional toll calling plan. The double-play bundle is valued at a price of $44.99 per month for new customers while the existing customers can avail the discounted price of $34.99 over a period of 24 months. The service also requires the customers to sign a one-year contract with Verizon voice.

Customers who were either using dial-up internet or visiting library and other internet enabled public venues for their computing needs, can now experience the convenience of broadband at their home at an unmatched price. Along with a single monthly bill for their service as well as enhanced customer support, subscribing customers will also be able to receive and make calls while using the internet instead of choosing one from the other.

Commenting on the dual-play offer, Shawn Strickland, Verizon’s vice president of consumer strategy, believes that dial-up internet will soon cease to exist once the customer experiences the convenience of the always-on high speed broadband at home. He added, “The broadband service we are offering with this bundle is 17 times faster than dial-up. By adding a Regional Value calling plan, consumers will get a bundle that is unmatched in the market at about the same price as having landline phone and dial-up Internet service.”

Additionally, a new triple-play bundle is also available from Verizon with added DIRECTV CHOICE service. The triple-play service comes at a price of $74.99 per month for new customers and $64.99 per month for existing customers and includes a one-year Verizon agreement and two-year DIRECTV agreement.

Based in New York, Verizon Communications delivers high speed broadband and other wireless and wireline communication services to mass market, business, and government and wholesale customers. Verizon’s advanced fiber-optic network provides converged communications, information and entertainment services globally and helps deliver seamless business solutions to customers around the world.
