'Multimedia Polska revenues up 10% in Q1 to PLN 126.6 mln'

May 20, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska saw its first-quarter revenues increase by 10.1 percent to PLN 126.6 million, from PLN 115 million in the year-ago period. The growth was due to the increase in the number of cable subscribers and the growing popularity of new cable services such as IPTV, DTV and premium channels, as well as an increase in the number of broadband internet subscribers. EBITDA increased by 9 percent from a year earlier to PLN 61.1 million. At the end of March, the group had 1.162 million revenue-generating units, including 637,060 cable TV customers (of which 5,554 IPTV and 80,575 DTV), 292,750 broadband internet subscribers, 188,142 voice customers, 32,499 premium channel users, 11,314 indirect voice customers and 711 payphones. In the first quarter, the group recorded a net increase in RGUs of 33,250.
