Atlantic Broadband to Power Miami Beach's Centennial Events


Local cable TV, Internet and Phone (News - Alert) provider, Atlantic Broadband today announced that it will provide broadcast capabilities and additional technology support to the City of Miami for the upcoming Miami Beach 100 event, the city's 100-hour historic festival celebrating its centennial year.

As part of its partnership with the city, Atlantic Broadband has installed extensive fiber optics throughout Miami Beach in order to broadcast live concert footage from the "Hard Rock Rising Miami Beach Global Music Festival." The concert is scheduled for March 26 and through Atlantic Broadband's technology, the show will air on jumbo screens located around the city as well as in the New World Symphony Hall and th North Shore Bandshell.



Additionally, Atlantic Broadband will broadcast the March 26 concert for its customers on channel 19 and offer other global cable providers the option to syndicate the music festival, enabling fans access to performances by Andrea Bocelli, Barry Gibb and Gloria Estefan and others.

Atlantic Broadband will also be providing the backend services to enable eight Wi-Fi hot spots located throughout the city, which will provide residents and visitors access to the Internet on mobile devices and laptops.
