Mastering the ABR client side allows to enhance the robustness of the live TV use cases and to improve the zapping time and support to trick modes. The client software can be easily tuned to better fit with the Content Delivery Network (CDN) that is used. A detailed monitoring of the QoS/QoE is made possible as every possible parameter can be retrieved over the TR-069 protocol. Moreover sphisticated adaptation and bandwidth estimation algorithms have been put in place which allows more accurate switching between bit rates in unstable network conditions.
