ARRIS Delivers 6 Million Ad Transactions per Day

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

The suite of ARRIS on demand and targeted advertising solutions offer cable operators the opportunity to improve revenue models that allow ad subsidized on demand services with the facility to insert relevant and timely ads in the on-demand video. Targeting those ads combined with applications like Start Over, Network PVR, and access to long tail ad content help the cable operator’s value proposition to both their subscriber and the advertising market. Recently, ARRIS announced that it had delivered 6 million ad transactions daily. On this occasion, the company will showcase its products at the upcoming NCTA (News - Alert) Cable Show (May 21-23 in Boston) at booth #967.

The ARRIS portfolio assists operators to offer advertising services that continuously cater to client service level agreements and maintain continuity of revenue flow. ARRIS helps operators who have adopted a complete digital environment and also those who are beginners in this field from analog to digital. ARRIS products provide the flexibility to support numerous operator infrastructures, the company stated in a press release.

“Advertising represents a significant source of revenue for operators today and will continue to do so as TV Everywhere flourishes," said Bruce McClelland, president, ARRIS Products & Services. "The ARRIS advertising portfolio can enhance revenue streams with the use of new dynamic targeting and companion-device techniques. As the market and technology evolves, operators can leverage their existing investment to enable new advertising models across multiple devices and formats without disruption to current business processes.”

Recently, TMC’s (News - Alert) Rajani Baburajan reported that the company’s C4 CMTS and Touchstone (News - Alert) TG862S Wideband cable modems have showcased interoperability for IPv6 services on a weeklong period in the test labs of Excentis in Ghent, Belgium. The recent interoperability event, hosted by Excentis, showcased the important steps made by key vendor partners. The company’s C4 CMTS supports EuroDOCSIS 3.0 features, she reported.
